Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport in is just 120 kilometres from Pattaya (approximately an hour and a half away). Suvarnabhumi is well-connected with various domestic and international cities like Phuket, Macau, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Chennai, Sydney, Doha, Delhi, Paris, Frankfurt, etc. It is served by all major airlines like British Airways, Air China, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Korean Air, Thai Airways, etc. Pattaya is also served by the U-Tapao International Airport which offers limited connectivity to a few destinations and is located just 30km from Pattaya.

Pattaya is well-connected to the capital by rail. A daily service operates between the Hualamphong Station of Bangkok and the main train station in Pattaya. The train is basic and without air-conditioning, but is an economical way to travel. Tickets are available at the station and have to be bought at least 30 min before departure.

There are frequent bus services from the Northern Terminal (Mo Chit) as well as the Eastern Terminal (Ekamai) in Bangkok that connect to the main bus terminal of Pattaya near Sukhumvit Road. There is also a bus service (modern air-conditioned buses) connecting Pattaya with the Suvarnabhumi Airport that takes around 1.5hr. From the bus terminal on Sukhumvit Road, one can also find buses that connect Pattaya to the Northeast part of Thailand; these buses are known as ‘Isans’.
