The city does not have commercial flight connectivity. Bern Airport (BRN) is the closest to Interlaken, and is about 45 minutes away by road. Zurich Airport (ZRH) is one of the main international airports of Switzerland and is 2 hours away from Interlaken by train. There are more international flight options to Zurich, if one is travelling from outside the country. It has good connectivity to cities across the globe, such as Dublin, Moscow, Toronto, Madrid, Paris, Hong Kong, etc. via airline carriers including Aer Lingus, Aeroflot, Air Canada, Air Europa, Air France, Cathay Pacific, etc.
Interlaken has 2 main stations, Ost and West. The Ost Train Station, also known as Interlaken East, is the city’s main station. Many trains that travel to the picturesque city of Interlaken will stop at both train stations, which are a mere mile apart. The Swiss scenic GoldenPass train starts and ends at the Interlaken Ost station. In addition, trains from major Swiss cities like Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Bern and Lucerne will depart and arrive from Interlaken Ost.
Bus routes in Switzerland usually act as feeder lines for the more popular train routes since most of the people travel by trains. There are no direct buses to Interlaken from Zurich or Bern, but there are coach services to Interlaken from other major European cities like Rome, Paris, Florence and Munich.
