Bangkok can be easily reached from most cities in Thailand and from major cities of the world. The city of Bangkok is served by two airports: the Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Don Mueang Airport. The former is used by all major international airlines and all Thai airlines except Air Asia, Nok Air and Orient Thai, which serve the old Don Mueang Airport. Both these airports are approximately 30 km from the city centre. Suvarnabhumi Airport connects Bangkok to global cities like Hong Kong, Singapore, Chennai, Sydney, Doha, Delhi, Paris, Frankfurt, etc. Both airports connect the city to Phuket, Macau, Chiang Mai, etc.
Bangkok is well-connected to all the major cities of Thailand via bus routes. There are both private and government-run buses to Bangkok. The agents and private buses usually charge almost 100% more than the regular buses. Bangkok has three terminals: Northern, Eastern and Southern Bus Terminals that are located far from the city centre to avoid traffic congestion. Buses connect Bangkok to various parts of Thailand like Phuket, Krabi, Ko Samui, Surat Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Chanthaburi and more. There are also inexpensive shuttle buses and minibuses that can be boarded at many parts of the city.
